The Multimillion Dollar Coaching Practice – Part 3
Ryan looked at a bunch of different businesses he could go into, but kept finding reasons they would not work for him
Ryan: I just stopped and put all of your stuff on hold for six months.
And I thought “maybe I’m not cut out for this, maybe this isn’t for me”.
BusinessCoachingCertification.net: you know what’s really interesting about what you just said, is that you did not say “maybe this isn’t the guy for me, maybe this method doesn’t work”. And the reason I’m highlighting this is I want people to understand what their business coaching clients are likely to go through if you put forth enough proof and caring and content about what you do and what your method is.
The danger is that they are going to think they’re really not cut out for it, not that you don’t know what you’re doing.
And I have to tell you that during that period I started to wonder if there was something I was doing that was inadequate about coaching you.
Frankly I was equally as concerned about maybe there something wrong with me, and maybe my systems aren’t as good as I thought they were, or maybe I haven’t taught them the way I thought I did. But I want people to see what goes on in the client’s head.
Ryan: the thing that finally got me to move, the thing that convinced me, and the thing that I teach my own business coaching certification clients is to stop worrying about the question: ‘is the thing that I’m doing going to be successful?’ And that question can certainly keep you up at night.
When I shifted my mindset and said: you know what, just treat this like tuition. This is a learning experience. Everything I do is an experiment.
And when you do an experiment, there are only right answers. Because when you do an experiment, you’re always going to learn something.
And if your goal is to learn something, which you always do just by the nature of running an experiment, everything you do is going to be successful.
And I know it sounds subtle, but when I shifted my mindset to that, I from the five most profitable words I’ve ever said to myself. Realizing this made my business coaching salary virtually explode.
“Screw it, just do it”
